Wikipedia Blackout

"Imagine a world without free knowledge"

A world without free knowledge can be seen in two separate ways. Is the U.S. government really trying to control what everyone knows about every single subject that Wikipedia offers or are they only doing this for the simple reason of stopping people from adding extremely false information about a subject. There is no doubt that the U.S. government has serious control issues but if they really are trying to control Wikipedia to try and control people by containing their knowledge to what they think people should know, it will all backfire. One thing that can never be controlled or contained is the power of the people. If they try and control people through Wikipedia then people will find another way to share information and we will never stop. On the other side of the argument they could potentially just be doing this action to ensure that Wikipedia becomes a legit source. At this point in time before it was controlled many universities/colleges/high schools wouldn't even allow for Wikipedia to be used as a source for papers and essays but now it definitely will be because education systems all relate to the government.  The main question is are people being naive to believe that it is purely innocent. The U.S. government could potentially take down every subject of any type of negative information about them or any information that could lead to any serious truths about them. This is all leading to the whole conspiracy theory about the U.S. government but that is an individual opinion that everyone has, which I ensure can be altered, but I am not here to do that. Main point being that if the U.S. government is trying to contain our society with the mindset of controlling what we know about literally everything they will never succeed but only time will tell what their true motives are because nothing is greater than the power of the people.
